You will be investigating new methods and architecting a new backend data architecture to meet our growing needs. <p>ScanTrust is currently looking for a Backend Data Engineer with the following scope</p>
<h2>Tasks</h2>
<ul><li>Work with product and technical teams to gather requirements for a new data storage and processing architecture that can handle our growing needs</li>
<li>Make architectural design decisions and communicate tradeoffs clearly</li>
<li>Design and optimize data pipelines, tooling, and dashboards</li>
<li>Understand existing infrastructure and help monitor data flows and diagnose issues</li>
<li>Maintain and improve the current data architecture</li>
</ul><h2>Requirements</h2>
<ul><li>4+ years of industry experience in a data engineering or similar role</li>
<li>Strong experience with relational databases (postgres preferred)</li>
<li>Strong Python programming ability</li>
<li>Experience with Airflow and/or other ETL/Data Pipeline tools</li>
<li>Experience with AWS Data tools - RDS, Redshift, Athena</li>
<li>Knowledge of Spark / Kafka / Firehose, data warehouse, and data lake tools and concepts</li>
<li>Experience with document and distributed databases is helpful</li>
<li>Creativity and excellent problem-solving skills</li>
<li>Strong opinions about the right way to do things that you aren’t afraid to defend</li>
